Manche a Med
What a differnce the weather can make, had a much better day although covered longer distance and still ascended 1600 metres. had some wind but nothing like yesterday.
As we go around the towns we are now passing through Forestry roads as we ascend the Massiff Central. Marie and Peter with a backdrop form one of our climbs.
When we went around towns in Normandy would go for 10 to 15 k’s across rolling countryside with no fences and the fiels planted in wheat, barley, sorghum etc. Now passing through forestry etc and the roads climb accordingly.
One other difference is that in Normandy at a lot of remote crossroads there were crucifixes, now there are just crosses. Some of the villages you have to pinch yourself, doors opening onto the road, wmomen pithforking hay etc
